Below is a chart of mail timings for ZIP shipments to me here in Yellowknife. The dividing line should be the point where "Project Edmonton" started in - certainly all shipments after that point have lacked the former Canada Post stampings from the Ottawa plant.
I'll improve this chart with average times when I get a chance - shipments average just under 4 business days using the Canada Post definition (day of mailing not counted). Note that I had a run of good 3-day deliveries just before the new shipping trials, and after it even got one in 2 days. The last few have been slower; perhaps just Canada Post summer BBQs.
My mailbox is in the main post office building here, and I check it daily. My returns are all dropped before 10am. Yellowknife has good direct jet service from Edmonton (morning and evening), and should be similar to Grande Prairie, Fort McMurray, or any other large community one hop away from the Edmonton sorting depot.
